Why is it so difficult for people to lose weight and keep it off?  There are as many opinions about this, as there are diets and diet programs on the market.

Diets Don’t Work

Many people make resolutions to lose weight for New Years, and honestly, I am not a fan.  I don’t believe that diets work for the long-term for most people, and instead believe in making healthy, permanent lifestyle changes.

Healthy Eating For Weight Loss

It can be difficult to decipher what healthy eating is these days, because different experts recommend different eating plans – from Ketogenic Diets to the Whole-30 to the Mediterranean Diet.  My son’s developmental pediatrician recommends eating as much organic, non-GMO food as you can afford with a rainbow of colors and variety of sources.  This makes sense to me!

However, it can be difficult to get the necessary nutrients in the food we eat today.  Our soil has been depleted of many vital nutrients, and we need to eat a large quantity of food to get our RDA of vitamins and minerals – which is not conducive to weight loss.

Essential Oils May Help

Essential oils have long been a passion of mine – largely due to the positive impact they have had for my son.  I have a 16 y.o. son, Danny, with a rare genetic disorder.  He was often unwell as a child, despite many natural and medical interventions.  We changed Danny’s diet, implemented essential oils, began a medication called Neupogen and started him on an exercise regime in 2014, and I’m happy to report he is much healthier now.
